hickup!!!!

Warm-up: Silently Read the following:

Oh My Gosh!!!
Time To Rethink Our Plan

The CEO of our consulting firm, Mr. NaLiMa, has been arrested for fraud and the company is bankrupt as a result of Mr. NaLiMa's shady dealings. No worries, if we can keep Mr. Kumaresh's business, we can create our own consulting firm with the money and future clients Mr. Kumaresh sends our way. We are known for our good work and have very high customer satisfaction. Mr. Wearley, the head of our division needs you to work your hardest, keep your minds focused and calm.
Mr. Kumaresh had to attend to some personal business today and can't make the meeting. That's good though, because it gives us some time to make our presentations and graphs better. This also gives us some time to rethink the rate we are going to charge Mr. Kumaresh for our services. The consulting firm was charging Mr. Kmaresh an $8,000 flat fee for our services. Our division only receives $2,000 from Mr. Kumaresh. We need to think of a fee, that is better than the original fee and earns us more money.

In your team discuss the following:

  • A new fee for Mr. Kumaresh that is cheaper for him, but helps us earn more money.
  • Based on your new fee, how much money will each person in the consulting firm make?
  • Should each person get the same amount of money? Why?

  • Now that our office is gone, where do we work? From home? Rent new office space? How much will it cost us?

After 10 min, each team will present the ideas generated from the discussion and we will take a vote on how we shall proceed.

Line Graphs

What are 4 important things that all line graphs must have?

Expressing The Situation With Algebra

Expressing The Situation With Algebra With The 7th Grade Math Consulting Agency

Part B

Mr. Kumaresh has informed me that he is very pleased with the results, but he gets very confused when he starts trying to compare the data from all three tables.  What he needs is some sort of chart or graph that will have all of the data displayed so that it is easier to compare the rates.

At 8:50 AM Thursday morning we will have a board meeting to decide the best type of graph or chart to help Mr. Kumaresh out of his decision dilemma. Before the meeting please think about the best type of graph, discuss it with your team and be ready to present.
Consider the following:
  • He needs to see all  plans on one chart.
  • He needs to see how the rates change as the amount of people going increases.

You have ten minutes to discuss this with your team. Be ready to share your opinion and why you choose that opinion.  Which graph is best and why? Before sharing describe your answers at the blog .

After each presentation we will vote on a chart and each team will produce their own version of the chart.
You will need pencils, graph paper and markers.
